Being “Qwerky” is Cool

Big Personality at Your Fingetips

I think being quirky is cool! Typing on the Qwerkywriter is probably the coolest to the Generation X, and the Xennial generation.

Raised in the analog world of typewriters, inked ribbons and yes, whiteout; I never really thought past what was in front of me. I remember when my family purchased our first electric typewriter; it was our new toy. Or more like my new toy.

Raising a kid in the iGen/Gen Z generation can have its challenges if you don’t educate them on what it was like to be a kid in the eighties.

My son appreciates the “classics” and all things considered “retro” from my generation. Just like I appreciate all the ever changing, crazy technology we are discovering together during his generation.

I have our retro collectibles or replicas displayed throughout our home because I like to remind myself of the generation I came from, and I want my son to know generations don’t die-off, we grow and evolve from them.

So, don’t lose sight of what once was, because things may come back full circle. Even if it is in the shape of a typewriter that now connects via bluetooth but feels and sounds like you are typing on an old-fashioned typewriter your grandmother may have learned to type on, if you’re from the Xennial generation or older.

If you appreciate typewriters, then try your hand at the Qwerkywriter. It’s my latest and coolest purchase that I’ve been eyeing for a while now. So glad I treated myself to this beautiful mechanical keyboard.

Happy typing, y’all!

A fun and flirty lined notebook to fill it with ideas for those sweet and spicy love stories.

It’s here! I love this latest content book I created. It checks off all the boxes for me. When I created it, I really wanted a simple lined book to jot down my story ideas for the genre I am writing in. I’m a visual, so it was important for the cover to be fun and flirty. Which in return helps me stay focused on my genre and story that I am working on, or for future story ideas?

Whether you’re writing sweet or spicy love stories, this cherry covered notebook will fit perfectly in your handbag or sit on your nightstand waiting to be filled with ideas.

Why I Love Book of the Month Club

To my surprise, Book of the Month Club has been around since 1926. I did not know they’ve been around that long. Yet, I can recall as far back as being a teenager becoming a member and thinking how grownup I felt to receive books in the mail along with an invoice that yes, I paid for because I had a part-time job.

Fast-forward many years later, and I recently became part of the Book of the Month Club again. Sure, I can order books on other website platforms or go to my local bookstore, which I do. There is something about getting your books in snail mail. Like a surprise, a monthly gift to yourself.

With all the madness going on in our world right now, you may not feel safe enough to go into a store and stay for a long period to choose some books, so you may rather order them. Whether you are signing up for yourself or giving a subscription to a friend, there is a selection for every genre and you’ll probably want to grab more than one book. I know I did!

One perk of being a member of Book of the Month Club is getting dibs on early release books. Early releases are awesome people! To me, that is all worth it in a nutshell. So, if you’re not too sure whether to sign-up, my best advice is to try it. You may enjoy it, and there is no commitment.

My current BOTM choices are The Dating Plan by Sara Desai and Happy & You Know It by Laura Hankin.

We tell our kids to try new foods all the time. “Try it, you may like it.” Well, I’m telling you to try it, you may like it!

If you’re like me and like to take notes while reading a book or maybe you belong to a book club group and like to discuss and take notes on what you’re reading. Then this great My Book Club Notebook I created is a great tool to take notes to organize your book reviewing. You can find My Book Club Notebook here. Enjoy!

A Book Lover's Journal

During these crazy times, people find themselves with more time to do something they once felt they did not have time for. People are finding time to learn fresh things, like cooking, exercising and even read more.

The once large stack of TBR piles of books on shelves and nightstands are now dwindling and book clubs are once again gaining popularity.

Virtual book clubs are growing and believe it or not, book sales are going up. Kindle lovers are downloading and recent releases are flying off the shelves.

Many years ago I was a part of a book club, but life happens and we all went our separate ways. There were no virtual book clubs. Now, I’m digging them! I find them convenient and doable. No commuting time needed.

Recently, I organized a virtual book club call “Let’s Get Bookish.” A book club for like-minded women who love to read contemporary women’s fiction and romance. When I created this virtual book club, I designed a book club notebook so I can take notes, summarize and review while I’m reading.

My Book Club Notebook – A Book Lover’s Journal is now available on Amazon. It’s a brilliant addition to your reading process and a magnificent gift for the book lover in your life!
